A Workplace that Defines the Doctor

Welcome to a world where we met a visionary doctor with a dream: a non-contemporary dental clinic where science and technology blend seamlessly into a marvel. The state-of-the-art process of making this clinic involved intricately crafted interiors that reflect the doctor's values, beliefs, passion for superheroes, and professional motivation.

Every corner of this clinic echoes these principles. From the start, it was clear this project would transcend the ordinary. We embedded the client’s inspirations and ambitions into every wall. His vision was not just out of the box—it was out of this world.

The Phone Call

The project began with a simple phone call from the client, a dentist, that profoundly influenced our designers and brought his vision to life. This conversation presented a unique challenge and a rare opportunity to realise the doctor's dreams.

The Depths and Layers

To bring the doctor's vision to life, we embraced a design that seamlessly blends modern functionality with cultural richness. Integrate state-of-the-art technology for efficiency while reflecting Pune and Rajasthan’s heritage to honour the client's cultural roots. Design a space that celebrates the doctor’s family history and love, fostering comfort and togetherness.

Losing the Plot

Family Concerns: The doctor's father was worried that the dark theme and superhero elements strayed too far from traditional clinic design, fearing it could harm his son's professional reputation.

Societal Perception: The design was criticised for resembling a pub or gym rather than a professional medical environment, raising doubts about its practicality and professionalism.

Design Dissonance: Balancing diverse and somewhat disjointed requirements—such as achieving a futuristic design while preserving heritage elements—made it challenging to create a cohesive and harmonious space.

Due to these issues, family and society's beliefs, we were on the verge of losing the project!

NEW: A DIVERSE BLEND OF RESIDENTS BROUGHT IN BY RAPID URBANISATION AND THE IT BOOM.

STREETS:

Old: Narrow, historically rich lanes with traditional charm.
New: Expansive roads, modern infrastructure, and well-planned developments.

FOOD:

Old: Renowned for authentic Maharashtrian dishes like vada pav, misal pav, and bhakri.
New: A melting pot of cuisines, from traditional Maharashtrian to global fare.

FESTIVALS:

Old: Ganesh Chaturthi and Diwali celebrated with deep-rooted traditions and community spirit.
New: A vibrant mix of music festivals, food events, and diverse cultural celebrations.

GATHERINGS:

Old: Social interactions centred around traditional wadas and temples.
New: Social hubs in cafes, malls, and modern recreational spaces.

ARCHITECTURE:

Old: Historic landmarks like Shaniwar Wada and Aga Khan Palace, showcasing traditional grandeur.
New: Sleek high-rises, IT parks, and contemporary residential complexes.

CULTURE:

Old: A tapestry of music, dance, literature, and art rooted in tradition.
New: A dynamic fusion of old and new cultural influences, reflecting a cosmopolitan vibe.

Old: Rich in traditional craftsmanship, with intricate woodwork and carvings.
New: Emphasis on modern amenities, sustainability, and innovative design.

Old: Vibrant local markets like Tulshi Baug and Laxmi Road, celebrating traditional shopping.
New: Malls, supermarkets, and speciality stores catering to a modern, diverse clientele.

Old: The historical heart of Pune, preserving its cultural essence.
New: A symbol of progress and innovation, embracing a modern urban lifestyle.

HEALTH FACTOR

Design
Narrative:

The design blends futuristic technology inspired by JARVIS with vintage elements from Pune wadas and Rajasthan’s intricate carvings. Expansive windows invite nature in, creating a calm, refreshing atmosphere. Superhero motifs add a motivational flair, while personalised touches reflect the client’s strong family bonds. Influences from Aadit and Ranveer (the architect’s children) give the design a personal depth. A traditional water kund in the mandir area seamlessly merges heritage with modernity. Dark, bold themes define common areas, while clean white lines highlight examination rooms. Global travel experiences enrich the space with diverse, sophisticated influences.
